I’m the type of guy that likes to know everything about what I'm spending my money on. Sadly there is not much info that a person like me can find online about the Hornets. I’m going to give a good account of my time as a Charlotte Hornets Season Ticket Holder.

Here’s my background concerning being an NBA fan

I grew up about an hour away from Cleveland Ohio and believe it or not, I never went to a Cavaliers game during my teen years. As a teen I was watching all of the new age greats like Jordan, Barkley, Robinson, Ewing, and so on. Back in the early 90’s everyone around my way loved the Hornets and if you didn’t love the Hornets at least you loved their colors and gear. Charlotte Hornets gear was cool even up in Ohio. So yes I was a Hornets fan back in the day and yes it does make me feel damn good to be a season ticket holder now. I graduated high school back in 1995 and didn’t really watch or follow The NBA until the end of the 2009/2010 NBA season. After watching LeBron James fight the Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals and lose I was hooked on The NBA again. Time moved forward and in January 2015 I had a family obligation in Cleveland Ohio so I decided to fly up a day early and see a CAVS game and that would lead to me loving live NBA entertainment.

The game was a blast, the arena was loud and fun, and it was one of the best times I had ever had as an adult. I had so much fan I made plans with my wife to take her to a NBA game in Cleveland as soon as possible.

During a Washington D.C. / Cleveland vacation I got tickets for two NBA games. My wife who is also a NBA fan hated her first NBA experience at the Wizards Verizon Center. The arena was dirty and the people working there were rude. We had nose bleed seats and the Wizards were playing one of the worst teams in the league for the 2014/2015 season (76ers). The game was really boring and not even half of the seats in the arena were full.

This was the 2^nd NBA game of my Washington D.C. / Cleveland vacation. What a great game. My wife became a super fan and we both had a great time together watching NBA basketball that we decided we would be going back to Cleveland’s next season home opener.

This was our 1^st NBA home opener complete with a fan festival and concert. We had a great time in Cleveland as always and made plans to travel back in the future.

1/2/2016 Charlotte Hornets vs. Oklahoma City Thunder

This was our 1^st Hornets game and I’m sad to say that I didn’t have a good time. We had 2 of our kids with us so we had to get nose bleeds to make the game affordable. I swear I could hit the last seats on the wall if I turned around. Great game going on and I couldn’t see the game with my naked eyes I was just at the game watching the game on the scoreboard. My wife and I swore to never sit in the nose bleeds again if we could help it.

3/29/2016 Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Huston Rockets

This was our attempt to sit on the floor and Row 1 behind the bench is not right behind the bench in Cleveland. There were 2 rows of VIP seating in front of Row 1 before you got to the 2 rows of players / coaches seats. I wouldn’t recommend sitting this close to a bench ever. You can’t see the game most of the time because the giant players on the bench are always standing up in front of you.

Great time at the game. We found what we consider to be the best seats in the house. We can see the entire court from up above and we are still close to the floor.

As you can see I’ve spent some major bucks flying up north to watch NBA basketball. After looking for seats that were close to the floor, close to the home bench, close to the visitor’s bench, up high, down low and always priced just right I learned a lot about mark up prices for different sections and the sections seats, as well as good viewing areas for the money. My wife and I decided that even though we didn’t have a great time during the one time we went to the Hornets arena we were going to become season ticket holders and enjoy lots of NBA games for less money than we had been paying to travel from Jacksonville NC to Cleveland for a few games each season.

I had a good time at the game. Playoff games are way more exciting than normal season games. While the Verizon Center needs to be updated we still had a good time. We plan on going to a playoff game every year now, although it most likely will not be in DC.
